Angelfire by: Courtney Allison Moulton (Review)

Title: Angelfire
Author: Courtney Allison Moulton
Publisher: HarperCollins / Katherine Tegen Books
Number of Pages: 464
Synopsis From Cover Flap:

First there are nightmares.

Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her.

Then come the memories.

When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.

Now she must hunt.

Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember.

Review: I knew this book was going to be good, but not this freaking good! My mind has been blown and I don’t think it will recover until book two! Lets get on that Courtney, xoxo! I Loved this book so much that I don’t know if any books will be able to compare. A new spin on the angel phenomenon in paranormal young adult, that I wish would have been published sooner!

The plot was very fast paced and I loved that. There was never a dull moment! I was excited for every fight scene and man this book is not short on those. Those afraid of blood this is not the book for you, and you are missing out in life because of that! I don’t know how Courtney wrote these fight scenes, I thought I was there in some of them. I also really liked the attention to detail nothing was left untouched.

I really enjoyed Ellie as a main character! She is strong yet feminine and that is lacking in the young adult genre! I liked how she could be at a party rocking her outfit with her girlfriends at one moment, then killing a reaper the next. She definitely is not waiting around for a boy to save her! I found myself laughing for her dialogue was quite comical at times! Will what can I say; smoking hot and can be my guardian any day. He is such a gentlemen and I really enjoyed that. The relationship between Ellie and Will is complex and a mystery at times.

Go grab this book now! You should buy multiple copies and then give them to your friends! One of the best books I have read in a long time and the best in its paranormal genre. If you don’t read it your life is lacking. Angelfire is a fast paced journey and you better hold on tight! Ellie and Will are a duo that has survived time and will live in your heart forever.
