Moonlight on Jackson Pearce (Interview)

So I had the chance to interview Jackson Pearce, who is AMAZING! Jackson is the author of Sisters Red, As You Wish, and has upcoming releases of Sweetly (Sisters Red #2) and Purity. She is also has short stories in the following anthologies: Enthralled and soon to be released Wicked Pretty Things. Jackson also holds a weekly Livestream show, the link is below. Every Wednesday at 8pm EST and topics range from writing to books to mangoes. If you have never been to a show I highly recommend it! On top of all of this she coaches a Winter Guard team and films daily a video which she puts on youtube. Jackson is a force to be reckoned with and a literary genius.

MR: What was your worst High School experience?
JP: I failed a math class in high school because I was working on my first novel in the back of the class instead of paying attention. In retrospect it's funny, even ironic, but I will never forget how it felt walking home, knowing I'd have to tell my mom I failed. It was awful!

MR: Why the obsession with Mark Twain? What fascinates you?
JP: Mark Twain was a funny, brilliant, kind, and gifted person-- his ability to write the truth so subtly that readers accept it without question is amazing (even at a time when truths about racial equality weren't always accepted!). He had a really interesting life and an epic love story with his wife, Olivia. It feels like the more I looked into his life, the more fascinated I became, and so I decided to use him as the basis for a historical fantasy!

MR: How do you edit your videos and come up with ideas?
JP: I just used iMovie to edit my videos. It is tough to come up with ideas, especially if I need to produce one fast-- doing the 30 days of vlogging definitely taught me how to make a 2 minute video out of just about anything.

MR: Team Unicorn or Team Zombie?
JP: Team Weasley.

MR: What is your five favorite things?
JP: Diet Coke, mangos, my pets, things being in my PO box, and 75 degree weather.

MR: If you were being chased by a werewolf what would you do? And what would you be thinking?
JP: OH MY GOD I HAVE THE POWER TO CREATE CORPOREAL THINGS WHEN I WRITE THEM THIS IS SO COOL TOO BAD I'M GOING TO DIE AHHHHHHHHH
