Shades of Atlantis by: Carol Oates (REVIEW) (Tour Stop and Giveaway)

Title: Shades of Atlantis
Author: Carol Oates
Publisher: Omnific
Number of Pages: 307
Date of Release: Out Now
Synopsis From Back of Book:

Since the death of their parents, Triona Pryor and her brother, Ben, have lived with their aunt and uncle in Camden, Maine. Now in her senior year of high school, Triona loves her family and friends, but she has always felt that she didn't quite fit in...in Camden, or anywhere else.

Enter Caleb Wallace, the devilishly handsome man who has recently moved to Triona's small town. While their attraction to each other is instantaneous, it also proves to be dangerous...and deadly.

When tragedy strikes, Triona flees to London for solace and to start her life anew. It's there she discovers from an unlikely source that her family has been keeping secrets from her - secrets about not only her birthright, but her ultimate destiny as well. Armed with this knowledge, Triona finds herself thrown into a whole new world and into a battle to save the lives of everyone she loves

Review:  I absolutely adored this book. You know I sometimes say books took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Well this one did that to me, BUT my emotions were in the front seat of the fastest roller coaster out there! Carol has a beautiful writing style and I have grown to love it. At one point I screamed “NOOOOOO”!! My mum was like, “WHAT?”, and I explained what happened to her!

I loved Triona, she had my love from the first page. I related to her very well. What she went through I felt like I went through with her. I also liked her friends they were really funny, and I wish I friends like them! Okay now onto the hot boy! Caleb was gorgeous and totally kind but yet fierce. He was highly protective but yet sincere and sweet. I really loved the family dynamics in the book as well. It showed how you can rely on family in times of need.

I loved the paranormal in the novel and the plot. The book also seemed totally possible for it ties in a ton of History and Mythology flawlessly.  I can classify this book almost into two separate ones. I liked this, it showed a book can really be a stand-alone title and yet be EPIC. I think you should all read Shades of Atlantis so we can chat about it together!

  20. Hahaha I know what you mean about the emotional roller coaster ride. Unfortunately, I didn't yell at my book and get funny looks from my housemates, although that would have been a very entertaining conversation ;). Great review!
