Summary From Goodreads:

Where do you go when nowhere is safe?

Sixteen years after a deadly virus wiped out most of Earth’s population, the world is a perilous place. Eighteen-year-old Eve has never been beyond the heavily guarded perimeter of her school, where she and two hundred other orphaned girls have been promised a future as the teachers and artists of the New America. But the night before graduation, Eve learns the shocking truth about her school’s real purpose—and the horrifying fate that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Arden, her former rival from school, and Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust . . . and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

In this epic new series, Anna Carey imagines a future that is both beautiful and terrifying. Readers will revel in Eve’s timeless story of forbidden love and extraordinary adventure.

Review: The cover is absolutely stunning. When I first heard of this novel I was drawn in by the depth of the colors and the girl fleeing into them. After reading the novel the cover is terrifyingly similar to the scenes described in the beginning of Eve. Anna Carey has mastered the art of imagery and weaving it within a fast paced novel.

Eve is living an almost perfect life. She knows what she wants to do with her life, and is amazing at painting. Not to mention she has some of the best friends a girl could ask for. Also there is that tiny fact that she is the head of the class. Eve has mastered life at school and never even questioned anything like the vitamins and shots. When she learns the truth that is when the novel really gets going. I loved Eve, she was lost in learning the ways of the world and I was fascinated reading about her learning of them.

Caleb was frightening at first and let’s just say, I did not trust him at all. When I realized his intentions were sincere and he had some pretty amazing morals and a history that rivals Eves, I came to realize he is the perfect specimen of guy. Yup, I just typed that sentence. There were moments when I thought a love triangle was possible, but it never happened and yet there was enough tension to make that relationship brilliant.

Some of the events in the novel like the grandma with a shotgun were pretty awesome. I never even would have thought that event and then living in a cave could fit in the same novel. The world building was done, but not in a,” Alright readers I am going to explain this in five boring pages, I know you are going to skim but it’s necessary way”. Carey adds all of her world building into snippets and big action packed moments so that it all builds and drives toward the end. I also enjoyed the reference to many classic novels and the skewed views in them. While the ending was a bit, NO DON’T DO THAT. I still see why it was written like that and cannot wait for the next installment. Eve is definitely a novel you will want to check out.
