Die For Me by: Amy Plum (Review)

Title: Die For Me
Author: Amy Plum
Publisher: Harper Teen
Number of Pages: 344
Date of Release: May 10th, 2011
Summary From Goodreads:

My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.

Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.

Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.

While I'm fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family's—in jeopardy for a chance at love?

Review: I have mixed feelings on this book. While I adored the setting and the main character I was frightened of the main love interest Vincent. They joked about him being a creeper, BUT he is a creeper!! The only redeeming quality is that he was so freaking romantic BUT psycho killers can be romantic so I don't even know.

I really liked how Kate was an avid reader and how I could connect that with myself. I did not enjoy some of her actions. I thought that she made some really really dumb decisions that I cannot seem to get over. Vincent creeped me out from day one. There was just something about him I could not get over. It was that thing that we later learn that I don’t understand how Kate can be okay with. I understand she was in love BUT he did some shady things that were just plain weird. Since I have never been in love in my life I will just have to chalk this one up to love, because clearly at this point in my life I cannot accept that you can fall in love with a psycho killer.

This being said I do know there will be people who will adore this book, and yes it will hold appeal to fans who love romance. If you can get over what I could not then this book will be a great read for you. The setting of Paris was so perfect and the descriptions made me feel like I was walking in Kate’s shoes. Proceed with caution if you don’t like creepers before you give this book a read.
