the Thirteen Days of Doctor Who (Tour Stop and Giveaway)

Fwoop Fwoop *steps out of Tardis* I think this tour is just about the most fantastic thing in the world the only thing that might rival it is a fork bracelet *cough cough mom*!! So as many of you guys no I am pretty much addicted to Doctor Who. If it is going to be on hold the phone, because unless it is an emergency or life shattering event, I will be in front of the t.v. on Saturday nights at 9pm. Most of the time by around 9:55pm my jaw is on the floor because somehow the show has yet again baffled me and the ending was so shut the front door worthy!!

Anyways I am specifically going to talk about is the whole Season Six with the eleventh doctor.

Spoilers of the first part of Season Six below. you have been warned! *exterminate* (sorry couldn't help myself)

Okay so it all started with the Rebel Flesh. In which this awful acid stuff needed to be contained and these gangers were able to make a copy of a persons body and allow the original person to inhabit it without fear of dying for if the did they would return to their original body. Well a lot of freaky things happened during couple  episodes there. I am trying to keep this brief, because if you are reading this you know what happened, because you watched it. Well anyways somehow Amy becomes a Ganger and no one ever knows and the continue their travels until this point. It all built to this pivotal point.

From The Almost People:

The Doctor: I said, breathe, Pond. Remember? Well. Breathe.
Amy: Why?
The Doctor: Breathe. {she has a stomach cramp}
Rory: What's wrong with her?
The Doctor: Get her into the TARDIS.
Rory: Doctor, what is happening to her?
The Doctor: Contractions.
Rory: Contractions?
She's going into labor.
Amy: What did he say? No, no no. Of course he didn't. Rory, I don't like this.
Rory: You're going to have to start explaining some of this to me, Doctor.
The Doctor: What, the birds and the bees? She's having a baby. I needed to see the Flesh in its early days. That's why I scanned it, that's why we were there in the first place. I was going to drop you off for fish and chips first. But things happened and there was stuff and shenanigans. {to himself} Beautiful word. Shenanigans.
The Doctor: I needed enough information to block the signal to the Flesh.
Amy: What signal?
The Doctor: The signal to you.
Amy: Doctor?
The Doctor: Stand away from her Rory.
Rory: Why? No and why?
The Doctor: Given what we've learned I'll be as humane as I can but I need to do this and you need to stand away!
Amy: Doctor I am frightened. I'm properly, properly scared.
The Doctor: Don't be, hold on. We're coming for you, I swear. Whatever happens, however hard, however far, we will find you.
Amy: I'm right here.
The Doctor: No you're not. You haven't been here for a long long time.
Amy: Oh no. {he melts her}.
Eye Patch Lady: Well dear. You're ready to pop, aren't you? Little one's on its way. Here it comes. Push...

I mean a total hold the phone moment right?!? Anyways the point I am getting at is that we all watched the whole show to this point believing Amy was well, Amy. the only thing we knew was off was that the doctor kept looking at a monitor and scanning to see if she was pregnant, which was weird but, we all were not expecting the whole you are here in mind but not body thing.

I know its weird but, really once you get past that their is a whole different message to doctor who after you watch it. the fact you don't know what is happening and then their is flashbacks that show you what really went down like in The Big Bang. All goes to show nothing is ever what it seems. Which is a lesson the show is trying to get across to its viewers. Never take anything for face value, always assume something is wrong and most importantly ask questions, don't ever follow blindly!!

Yes Matt Smith you can keep giving me that sexy pose! If you read this in River Songs voice you know you are a true Doctor Who Fan!! I know I am :P

  5. YES. This was such a pivotal moment, and of course it was presented in the most jaw-dropping way possible. That's one of the many reasons we love Doctor Who, right? ;) I'm REALLY loving this Bloghop!

  7. That hat is adorable, and I totally agree with you on the whole "nothing is as it seems" theme. I love the twists the show throws at us. I actually JUST saw these two episodes last night, so that's good timing for me! Haha.

  9. That hat is full of awesome!

Thanks for the great post about the Rebel Flesh/Almost People. It was a riveting two episodes and the dialogue you highlighted was so poignant and nuanced. It showed the Doctor being both devious and compassionate. Loved it.

  11. Eeek, that was a crazy moment. Amy's speech to the baby is the best, though.

  16. What I love about the hat is that it looks like the Tardis is spinning! Your head is going places! :-)

  17. I see what you mean about nothing being what it seems in Who. I TOTALLY called the doctor and flesh doctor switching shoes. It seemed like something the doctor would do.

  18. Now I have to go back and figure out when Amy isn't Amy.

  19. The whole of Season 6 was full of mind-blowing twists and turns. I daresay moreso than any other Doctor Who Series, classic or NuWho. Thanks for the great blog and now I'll have to head over to the Etsy store to see what other cool Doctor Who stuff there is to be had.

  20. I definitely did the flaily hands during that particularly scene. Doctor Who knows how to create emotional moments and you're just going AMY IS SCARED AND RORY IS CONFUSED AND SCARED, AND DOCTOR, THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY TO GO ABOUT THIS. But it's just so good, even while you're freaking out.

  21. Wish I could get all the eps so easily too. Santa?
